Little Star Café owners brought in consulting chef Chris Pastena to help craft a menu with an emphasis on wholesome, primarily organic dining choices.

A 2002 Winner of the American Culinary Gold Award of Excellence for his work at Bruno's in San Francisco and an 18 year veteran of the Bay Area cooking scene where he is a member of the Full Plate Restaurant Consulting collective, Pastena welcomes the challenge of taking traditional family favorites and presenting them in healthy ways that will appeal to both the young and the young at heart.

"The idea of a children's menu has expanded in recent years with many parents clamoring for dining options that are as healthy as they are appealing", explained Pastena. "Little Star's menu will feature items made from the highest quality ingredients with an emphasis on organic ingredients that rate high on the familiarity scale for kids, as well as California style grownup dishes that pair well with a casual glass of wine. Desserts, particularly Jennifer's specialty cookies, cupcakes, and luscious coconut and carrot cakes are sure to be much in demand by all age groups."
